Sisters Involved in Linking Knowledge

Our History

Sister Involved In Linking Knowledge (SIILK) is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1996.

Our founding members were highly successful, well respected professional African American women in the Telecommunications Industry who, because of their professional accomplishments and personal development, felt the need to focus on the progress of African American women within corporate America and the need for guidance and mentoring to support their success. Since its inception, SIILK has remained committed to its mission to bring women of diverse backgrounds together by providing opportunites to enhance themselves and others to grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking, mentoring and community involvement.

SIILK supports other community based charitable organizations, and is committed to the advancement of our youth to achieve their highest potential, by providing leadership support, educational workshops, mentoring, and scholarship opportunities.

Since 2005, SIILK has awarded over $70,000 in scholarships to deserving students in the Southern California area. We believe that “each one can teach one” and will continue supporting higher education for our youth, and their journey to become successful, independent adults. Educating our youth to become our future leaders will result in a life changing experience that can bring about a life changing impact on a personal and societal level.

We are passionate about helping others and commit ourselves to maintaining a high quality standard in everything we do, recognizing that excellence requires a consistent and focused effort. We continue to overcome challenges and strive for the best in life by encouraging and supporting others in their struggles toward advancement.

Committed to helping our youth achieve their dreams
